I will eventually upgrade my main computer to an Apple silicon 16-inch MacBook Pro but it can wait. I will use the MacBook Air for Mac/iOS development and it can also be used as a family computer.

Should I keep the MacBook Air Plugged in all the time or will this hurt the battery life and should just charge it up and then let it drain down. Also not I have it plugin to a external monitor which does me to keep it plugged in unless I keep the MacBook Air with the NEW M1 chip open all the time.

The progress bar fills up about a quarter the way through and restarts.
