1 day ago · Matt Meyer and Kyle Evans Gay took the oath of office Jan. 21, becoming Delaware’s new governor and lieutenant governor. The inauguration ceremony was moved indoors to Delaware State University’s William B. DeLauder Education and Humanities Theatre due to frigid temperatures blanketing Delaware.

Charity Crossing hosted a free pop-up market to give away free items to the university community. The items consisted of household items like kitchenware and cleaning supplies, as well as artwork, furniture and some small appliances from Amazon surplus boxes.

Over 500 members who volunteer with Lori’s Hands assist elders who are living in the local community with chronic illnesses. The nonprofit organization pairs clients with college students who volunteer through the university’s RSO.
University receiving partial funding for capital projects
Aug 27, 2024 · In the midst of a nearly $40 million deficit, the university asked the State of Delaware for additional funding for capital projects.Divided between breaking ground for new buildings, renovations and remodels, the ask totals out to $52.5 million. The original request was to put $30 million into buildings for deferred maintenance and $22.5 million towards construction projects at STAR Campus.
