Prices will rise for Americans who buy $5 shirts, $10 lamps and $20 shoes on direct-from-China shopping sites like Shein and Temu after U.S. President Donald Trump this week imposed 10% tariffs on goods from China.

Trump's halt to Section 321 de minimis is part of his implementation of an additional 10% tariff on China and 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico,

U.S. automaker Tesla's sales of China-made electric vehicles fell 11.5% to 63,238 units in January from a year earlier, data from the China Passenger Car Association showed on Friday. Deliveries of China-made Model 3 and Model Y vehicles were down 32.

Competition between Tesla and Chinese domestic rivals is intensifying as the U.S. firm continues to launch incentives to keep its cars attractive.

The EV maker sold 63,238 of its cars in January, compared to 71,447 vehicles it sold in the same month in 2024.

USPS briefly halted, then resumed mail and package acceptance from China and Hong Kong amid the new 10% tariff imposition.

On Tuesday, the USPS abruptly stopped accepting all inbound packages from Hong Kong and China. This briefly halted personal shipments from China, as well as online deliveries from China-based companies.
