There is an apparent expectation in the White House that news organizations will either use Trump-approved language, or they should expect to be punished.

"The Associated Press continues to ignore the lawful geographic name change of the Gulf of America," a White House official said.

The White House extended its restriction of access by the Associated Press to Air Force One and reiterated that the news organization is barred from Oval Office events because of how it uses President Donald Trump’s new “Gulf of America” label.
