Police were called to the 5600 block of East 69th Street around 6:30 p.m. where they found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, but died several hours later, according to Sgt. Philip DiMartino, spokesperson with the Kansas City Police Department.

A man was killed, and a woman critically injured in a shooting near Truman Road and Ewing Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

Detectives have now taken over the case, which KCPD is considering a homicide. KCPD also says that the investigation reveals that there was an altercation between two individuals that knew each other that led up to the shooting.
