LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rihanna appeared for the first time at the trial of her longtime partner A$AP Rocky, on the day of its most important testimony — the description by a former friend of the moment Rocky allegedly fired a gun at him.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky stepped out for a date night in Los Angeles on Jan. 28 amid his assault trial, which involves a 2021 incident with A$AP Relli. The rapper pleaded not guilty to two felony charges.

Cameras are not allowed to show Rihanna in Los Angeles court during A$AP Rocky's felony assault trial since she is seated in the courtroom gallery.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky first sparked dating rumors in 2012 before making it official and starting a family a decade later.

Rihanna was present for the rapper's ongoing trial, which marks the first time she has expressed public support for Rocky since the case began.

Amid the legal battle, ASAP Rocky has had unwavering support from his loved ones. According to Rolling Stone ’s Nancy Dillon, Rihanna was seated in the courtroom’s front row alongside Rocky’s mother, Renee Black. Dillon also noted that Rihanna kept her head down and appeared emotional throughout the proceedings.

The rapper rejected a plea deal and faces trial on two counts of felony assault stemming from a 2021 shooting in Hollywood.

Her approach to the Canadian Tuxedo—that’s a denim jacket up top, and classic straight-leg jeans on the bottom—was totally on point for the winter, thanks to the addition of an oversized leather trench coat.

The superstar singer and Rocky's longtime partner caused a stir when she showed up Wednesday, and she was back sitting between Rocky's mother and sister on Thursday.

If convicted at trial of both counts as charged, Rocky — whose real name is Rakim Mayers — faces up to 24 years in prison.
