The winter rumor mill isn’t exactly dying down in Houston, as the St. Lous Cardinals third baseman has been linked to Astros.

According to league sources, the Astros circled back with the Cardinals after Alex Bregman signed with the Red Sox.
Back in December, news broke that the Cardinals and Astros agreed to a trade that would have sent All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado to Houston. Arenado used his no-trade rights to veto the deal and both sides moved on.
The Houston Astros came close to completing a trade for Nolan Arenado in December before the St. Louis Cardinals star "balked" at the proposal, according to The Athletic's Katie Woo. One source told Woo the Cardinals had come as close as "the 1-yard line" before Arenado turned the trade down.
