Tuna sold in 26 states and in Washington, D.C., was recalled over concerns that it may have been contaminated. The stores affected include Trader Joe’s, Genova, Van Camp’s and H-E-B.

Several canned tuna brands have been pulled from shelves at Trader Joe's, H-E-B, Costco and Walmart over concerns about contamination that could cause a potentially fatal form of food poisoning. Tri-Union Seafoods voluntarily issued the recall last Friday "out of an abundance of caution.

The voluntary recall over botulism fears also covers cans sold at Safeway, Harris Teeter, Costco and other major grocery stores in dozens of states.
