Unfortunately, our favorite grocer is not exempt from recalls regarding food safety – the FDA just announced that “lots” of canned tuna products sold at Trader Joe’s (and a handful of other popular retailers) were recalled due to a “manufacturing defect” that could cause fatal side effects.

The recall was triggered by "a manufacturing defect that may compromise the integrity of the product seal (especially over time), causing it to leak, or worse, be contaminated with clostridium botulinum," the Food and Drug Administration ( FDA) said.

Trader Joe's is telling its customers to throw away or return the grocery store chain's organic acai bowls because they possibly contain plastic. The Monrovia, California-headquartered company announced the recall on Feb.
