A senior official from the ASI, Agra circle, confirmed there is a leakage in the main dome of the Taj Mahal due to seepage but assured there is no damage.

A purported video of a submerged garden on the premises of the ivory-white marble mausoleum was doing the rounds on social media since Thursday after heavy rains.

Agra's historical monuments, including the Taj Mahal, have been significantly damaged by continuous rain over 48 hours. The Archaeological Survey of India is investigating water seepage from the main dome and flooding in nearby gardens.

Following the reports of water leakage, a probe began, however, no damage has been found on the main dome even as the garden adjacent to the Taj Mahal remains submerged.
