The Padres and outfielder/first baseman Connor Joe are near an agreement on a contract, a source told MLB.com’s AJ Cassavell. The club has not confirmed. Joe, 32, is a San Diego native and was originally drafted 39th overall by the Pirates out of the University of San Diego in 2014.
