Coca-Cola posts strong fourth quarter revenue on higher volumes in US and China.

Shares of Coca-Cola Co. climbed 4.2% toward a 3 1/2-month high in premarket trading Tuesday, after the beverage giant beat fourth-quarter profit and revenue expectations, as unit case volume returned to growth and prices continued to rise.

Coca-Cola posted better-than-expected revenue and profit in the fourth quarter, boosted by higher prices and sales. The beverage giant on Tuesday reported a profit of $2.20 billion, or 51 cents a share,

Revenue for the Atlanta beverage giant rose 6% to $11.5 billion. That was better than the $10.68 billion Wall Street was expecting, according to analysts polled by FactSet. Analysts had expected Coke's unit case volumes to be up less than 1%.
